Our great grand mother who was George's mother, was an adoptive native American from SD but her birth certificate, which I have a copy of notes her being born in MI and that she was "white". My cousins on mom's side did some calling to the reservation and the records were not very good but they were told that Chief Sitting Bull had a sister, Mary One Bull who had a daughter, who had a child, that she released for adoption to a Belgium couple from MI. They came very close to the year the baby was born but of course the reservation apparently didn't keep good records back then. Wish we knew more about her. I tihink she died young in child birth. Somewhere I have her birth certificate and death certificate.
