Born in Heerenveen, died of heart trouble, married Hniel E. Pickering of Galesville in 1896. Well known in Holmen as a butcher and stock buyer. [Holmen is a village about 6 miles north of LaCrosse and 3 miles east of New Amsterdam.] He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at New Amsterdam.
